Beaubourg
:
The Centre Beaubourg, also known as the Pompidou Museum, is
a modern art center. The museum is full of books, videos, paintings
and a movie theater. The Centre Beaubourg was built in the
late 1970s, but it is full of high tech, modern appliances.
It is located on the Rue du Renard. President Pompidou ordered
its construction during his presidency. He wanted art accessible
to anyone who wanted to see it. The architects responsible
were Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers. Outside of the Centre
Beaubourg performers show off their talent of music and tricks,
bringing more attention to the museum. On the glass escalators,
various buildings can be seen -- an amazing experience. The
Centre Beaubourg has 5 floors. The first floor has a movie
theater. On the second floor is a huge library with books,
micro films, and videos. On the third floor are exhibits of
modern art, and the fourth and fifth floor house a grand gallery
of contemporary art .
